A supply chain review within OKI Europe Ltd highlighted the opportunity for the company to look differently at the way it had been managing its freight, with a view to radically reducing the administration involved in managing multiple suppliers, while maintaining tight control of its overall freight expenditure.

OKI Printing Solutions is a global business-to-business brand dedicated to creating professionally printed communication products, applications, and services that meet individual in-house printing needs.

OKI (UK) is involved in the configuration of all types of OKI Printing Solutions such as printers and faxes and the manufacture of toner and ribbons.

Based in Cumbernauld, OKI (UK) has achieved an outstanding reputation for quality and performance within the high-tech marketplace.

CCL SOLUTION

  • CCL used its independence to validate existing OKI partners, modifying solutions where appropriate and streamlining the complete communication and dataflow
  • myCCL (then called ACE) was chosen to provide the benefits of ‘One Stop Shopping’ without sacrificing price or service levels
  • CCL was engaged as a 4PL (4th party logistics provider) to OKI Europe Ltd in order to manage its inbound and outbound supply chain

THE SOLUTION

Using CCL, OKI has driven down the direct and indirect costs related to the management of OKI’s freight. Implementing regular reviews and measuring agreed performance metrics, CCL quickly identified and resolved supplier base inefficiencies, while its myCCL (ACE) provided OKI Europe’s management with a unique insight into their freight costs, customer order behaviour and cost-center analysis on a monthly basis.
