Business Development Manager - Freight Forwarding

Location - Midlands

Type - Permanent

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to work in our Freight Forwarding team.

The Role

This role is based in/around either the North West / M6 corridor or the East Midlands.

New Business Development at CCL is about matching our value proposition to our customers' needs. We are rarely the cheapest solution in the marketplace so consultative selling must be instinctive to you.

With a solid background in Freight Forwarding, you’ll also be keen to develop and learn, to build your career skills.

Your primary role will be to win new business that delivers a great customer experience.

We provide a full range of logistics services from mail to packets and parcels to pallets, along with part and full loads for delivery throughout the UK, Europe & Worldwide by Road, Air or Sea.

To help you sell value, we have built a suite of technology solutions that help customers reduce costs and grow, sustainably.

What You’ll Do

  • Consistently deliver results for a fast-growing business focused on customer success
  • Hunt down prospects, capture customer needs, and present our win-win value proposition
  • Work with our Procurement and Operations Teams to ensure our offer is compelling and robust

What You’ll Bring

  • Success in winning consultative sales for Freight Forwarding specifically Ocean Imports
  • Strong logistics experience background within 3PL/4PL enterprises
  • Ability to work on your own initiative while following the sales process
  • Ability to communicate and present at all levels within the organization
  • Great questioning and listening skills
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and trust
  • Ability to sell value over price
