Purpose of the Role

Acting as a Product Champion, you will support the Senior Product Development Manager with our Internal and external customer needs to deliver our roadmap milestones on time and on budget.

Main Tasks and Key Responsibilities

• As product owner, define the product development enhancements (features, user experience, application flow and optimisations) and drive ongoing product initiatives in close collaboration with the Engineering Team.
• Define product specifications using high-level wireframes, flow diagrams and clear and consistent user stories.
• For new product features, clearly describe expected input and output, application behaviour and error handling, in order to guide the Engineering Team.
• Play a lead role in the product life cycle by breaking down product requirements into user stories, participating in development sprints and support Sales & Marketing in taking the product/project to market.
• Manage changes to project scopes, project schedules and project costs.
• Monitor market trends, analyse competitive products and activities: find communicate and leverage relevant benchmarks (including business models) outside of the core market.
• Propose activities and changes to the products and the business models to increase revenue and income.
• Analyse and report on the performance of features in production, reporting on successes and identifying areas for continuous improvement.
• Partner with Marketing and Sales Teams to help develop product collateral, demos and training for product launches / product line enhancements.
• Other ad-hoc duties as defined by Line Manager or appointed deputy.

Essential Skills

• Proven strategic and commercial experience in a product management / product development role within a technology company.
• Proven track record of successful new product development using formal methodologies working with an Agile Technology Team.
• Ability to influence product strategy.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
• Must demonstrate a customer focus.
• Must demonstrate a bias for action.

Desirable Skills

• Experience of Logistics, Warehousing or similar sectors and the use of technology therein.
